Step Seven

Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.

Step Seven is not a one time prayer. It is a daily practice of surrender, humility, and openness to transformation. It is an opportunity to perform the ultimate act of responsibility: asking God for help. In Step 6, we prepared ourselves to change by becoming aware, honest, and willing. In Step 7, we surrender to the change process, and trust God to do the transforming.

Letting go of reactivity, fear, and defensiveness allows God to calm our inner world. As character defenses are healed, we become more capable of love, honesty, boundaries, and intimacy.
